With Fr. Philip's blessing, the faithful of Saint Ignatius Orthodox Church are currently serving in the following areas of prison ministry.
Take One
The Tennessee Department of Corrections "Take One" program is an opportunity for us to mentor a man or a woman soon to be released from prison, while the Church serves the inmate's family. You can read all about the Take One program HERE
Dismas House
Dismas House is a transitional facility for formerly incarcerated men in Tennessee. They have done amazing work in reducing the recidivism rate and believing that "second chances change lives. The Saint Ignatius Prison Ministry team serves and shares meals at their community dinners and provides other services as needed. Read all about Dismas House and all they do HERE
OCPM
The Saint Ignatius Prison MInistry recruits the faithful to volunteer in the Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry correspondence ministry. This is a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Christ with men and women who are currently incarcerated and interested in the Orthodox faith. Check out their prison ministry website here and please email us for training materials and mail delivery information.
